Dress your kids like Max in a wolf costume, and Carol's mask from the hit movie, Where The Wild Things Are by Spike Jonze. The book's beloved characters and monsters come to life. The question is, can you find their costumes?

Celebrity Halloween costumes are selling out fast. Movie monsters costumes and characters from children's movies are going quick as well. The fact of the matter is, Halloween costumes are getting more popular every year, especially after a hit movie is released.

Max, from Where The Wild Things Are, is probably the most sought after Halloween costume from Maurice Sendak's book. Carol will be popular too, but there's just something endearing about a kid in a wolf suit.

The Iron Gate Gallery.com had kid sized Wild Things Wolf pajamas for, get this, $75.00. But alas, they're sold out. "Back Ordered. We are out of stock for Halloween Shipping." The adult wolf suit came in at a pricey $149.00. Again, sold out.

Webundies.com has Max's footed pajamas with a hood, tail and printed claws on the feet. Max's wolf suit sells for $24.99, but they're only available in toddler sizes.

If you're really obsessed about getting a 'Where The Wild Things Are' Halloween Costume, check out Ebay. At last look, Max's wolf suit was going for a high of $355.00. And don't think for one moment that no one in their right mind would spend so much on a kids Halloween costume. There are already 30 bids on this auction! Max and Carol's Halloween costumes are available at Ebay starting at $29.99 for a Buy-It-Now set of pajamas. $240.00, $200.00 and $175.00 costumes have plenty of bids on them.

So, what do you do if you can't find Where The Wild Things Are Halloween costumes in the stores or online? Well, you could make them!

For Max, you'll need a pair of gray sweat pants and a gray hoodie. Some large buttons, pipe cleaners for whiskers, claws and toes made from craft foam purchased from a craft store like Michaels or Joann Fabrics. Add a furry boa tail, some gray gloves and top it off with a gold crown.

Speaking of Carol - the lovable but fierce monster is voiced by James Gandolfini, aka Tony Soprano. Instructables.com has directions to make a Wild Thing Headpiece. It's cute, but not current. You would only want your kids to wear this beast. They can also be found on Ebay.
