Transformers Halloween Costumes: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee

Autobots and Decepticon Halloween costumes are hot items this fall, with Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee being the most popular. When the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen came out in June 2009, kids were immediately attracted to the colorful robots. Transformers costumes can be found online at all price points, or made at home using ordinary craft supplies.

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie, directed and produced by Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg, and starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, is one of the top grossing films of 2009.

Buycostumes.com has great looking Transformers Bumblebee and Optimus Prime Movie 3-D Deluxe children's costumes, but at $49.99 each, you'll want to make sure your kids can get 2-3 years out of it. They also sell party kits and pinatas too.

Child size Tranformers costumes can be found at Spirithalloween.com. Their prices for a standard costume are a little cheaper ($19.99-$29.99), and you can get accessories to match as well. The deluxe costumes are understandably more expensive.

Costumecraze.com has the best looking Transformers costumes for the 2009 Halloween season. Their Bumblebee Movie 3-D Deluxe Child Costume is pricey at $56.95, but you get the jumpsuit with 3-D armor and a mask. Add to that the gloves for $9.95, and the Transformers Tattoo Set for $5.95, and you've easily spent $75.00 with shipping, even though they do have a special on it.

If you want to save money and make your own Transformers costume, you can go to www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com. They have a number of homemade costumes to pick from, just follow their suggestions. Most costumes used a combination of foam, cardboard, hot glue, led lights, velcro and spray paint. The Transformers costumes from this site were the most life-like, however, by the time all was said and done, they cost as much as retail costumes, not to mention the long hours spent making them.

There are always the alternatives – Amazon.com and Ebay – where you can get most of the Transformers costumes at decent prices.
