Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the 3rd top grossing film of 2009, by Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg and starring Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf, is finally out. Watch Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee, the Autobots and Decepticon battle for good and evil.
Originally released in North American theaters on June 24, 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was just released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 20, 2009. Transformers 2 is now available to rent through local video stores and Netflix and Blockbuster, or for purchase online or in stores.
The most anticipated kids action DVD of the year, Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen, brings back teenager Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), the human caught in the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. There are a lot more robots in this movie than in the previous Transformers: The Movie, and they're going global, as far away as France, Egypt and Jordan.
Sam has been having dreams of Cybertronian symbols. The Fallen - the Decepticon's long-imprisoned leader is obsessed with destroying Earth by activating a machine that would provide a source of power for the Decepticons.
The Autotobots are led by Optimus Prime, a blue Peterbilt truck with red flame decals. Bumblebee, a transformed Chevy Camaro, is Sam's friend. Bumblebee's voice is malfunctioning, so he uses a radio to communicate, which adds some comic relief. While Optimus Prime is totally serious, Bumblebee is the exact opposite, with humorous one-liners and goofs.
The Decepticon's leader, Megatron, is a Cybertronian tank, and can change into a Triple Changer. The Fallen is Megatron's master, one of the Dynasty of Primes, and he is evil to the core.
Of course, what would a kid's life be without all the accessories? Transformers toys, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron action figures, bedspreads and sheets, video games and Halloween costumes are just some of what's available.
According to Wikipedia, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is currently the third highest-grossing film of 2009 worldwide, behind Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and the highest-grossing film of 2009 in the United States. In less than a month, the film surpassed the all-time earnings of its predecessor."
Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen DVD, can be purchased though Amazon.com starting at $14.99 and up to $42.99, depending on whether or not you buy the regular one-disc version, the two-disc special edition, or the Blu-ray version. Transformers 2 is also available online through Barnes & Noble, Ebay, and anywhere new release DVD's are sold. Netflix, Blockbuster and local rental outlets have Transformers 2 as well.
