Found your Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters yet? No one else can either. The hottest Christmas toy of 2009 is out of stock nearly everywhere. Walmart, Toys"R"Us and Target advertise them, but don't have them available. You can't even order them online from these retailers. So, what's a parent to do?

Black Friday is two weeks away, and Christmas isn't far behind, yet no one can find the lovable little Zhu Zhu Pets anywhere. Amazon has them, but at an average of $45-50.00 per hamster, these Zhu Zhu's might be the only gift sitting under the tree for some children, if their parents can find them.

And even if you do get your hands on a few Zhu Zhu Hamsters, the accessories are out of stock as well. And let's face it. Who wants a Zhu Zhu Pet without the hamster habitat, hamster garage or wheel?

A number of popular toys are already flying off the shelves in what is being likened to a gotta-get-it-now-before-they're-all-gone feeding frenzy. Waiting in line for hours with the promise of 5-10 minimum toys per store, only to find out the store never got their shipment, isn't gaining any customer loyalty.

Zhu Zhu Pet Shopping Tips

  • Call the store often. Make sure they have them before you waste time and gas.
  • When you get to the store, go right to the customer service desk and ask someone in charge. Do not tell ask or tell any other customers what you're looking for. This could cause a stampede and anyone that is Zhu Zhu savy, will recognize the name and make a mad dash before you get to the display. Remember the Walmart tragedy last year? Walmart Offers Safer Shopping for Black Friday Customers this year, hopefully other stores will follow suit.
  • If you find a stash of hamsters at your local store, buy as many as they allow. You can always sell them for more on Craig's List or Ebay.
  • Likewise, buy a number of assorted accessories for the Zhu Zhu Hamsters, as they will also find a good home somewhere.
  • Don't wait for Black Friday to buy these toys. Buy them now.
