Glee Auditions Open Casting Call: Fox Renews 2nd Season of Glee

Hopeful Gleeks aged 16-26 can audition to fill three new roles for Glee, the 2010 Golden Globe Awards nominated Fox series. Auditions for the second season of Glee will be open to both amateur and professionals. Fox is accepting online submissions, and will begin a nationwide casting call in February 2010. Fox will return with new Glee episodes on April 13th at 9:00pm.

Glee, the hit musical show, became an instant success when the pilot episode was broadcast on Fox on May 19, 2009. Fox knew what they were doing, and airing Glee right after American Idol was no accident. Social media sites were immediately buzzing about the fresh new musical, and Glee continues to be one of the most Twittered about TV shows.

In a statement by Fox President, Kevin Reilly said, "We loved 'Glee' ever since it was a pilot script, so it's been an incredible thrill to watch the show take root and see audiences embrace these characters in such a huge way this season. The show is a true and rare gem in television."

Three new roles will be created for Glee's second season which stars both adult and teen leads. The hit show is about a high school show choir set at the fictional McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. Matthew Morrison plays Will Schuester, a Spanish teacher who becomes the director of the school's Glee Club, hoping to resurect it back to its former glory days.
