Rich Little has for years been the undisputed champion of impersonations. His uncanny ability to nail the voice, mannerisms and even body language of the people he impersonates has amazed audiences for three decades. A critic once wrote, "Little is made of mirrors with his uncanny ability to pick up the reflections of celebrity personalities and bounce them back at amusing angles. He is the man who can become, without warning, the visual and vocal equivalent of public figures and show business celebrities. His impression of George Burns is so good you could actually smell the cigar."Â
Rich Little's orchestral show plays to rave reviews everywhere it is performed. And one thing about this show is certain: from Jack Nicholson to Johnny Carson, a Rich Little show is always a star-studded affair, as you never know who is going to make an appearance on Rich's red carpet! Little sings and dances along with the orchestra, paying tribute (and lampooning!) famous people and moments from stage and screen.
the first half of the concert includes many memorable scenes from the silver screen, with impressions of Henry Fonda, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Jack Nicholson, George C. Scott, Peter Sellers as the inimitable-for-anyone-else Inspector Clouseau, and more. In the second half, Little sings some of the best-known songs of Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, Neil Diamond ("Nearly Neil"Â has nothing on Rich Little!), Tom Jones, Robert Goulet, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Willie Nelson.
Rich Little is the son of a doctor in Ottawa. He has been voted Comedy Star of the year by The American Guild of Variety Artists, released nine Comedy Albums and 3 HBO Comedy Specials. Rich's Little's Christmas Carol won both a Global Rose of Montreux and an International Emmy. He has Stars in Hollywood, Palm Springs, Toronto and Las Vegas and has been honored by Halls of Fame around the world. -- www.vancouversymphony.ca
