The Wagner family began producing wine in 1972 on their Rutherford property in Napa Valley, California, bearing their first Cabernet Sauvignon. Adopting the name from the "Rancho Caymus"Â Mexican land grant of 1836, the Wagner's established Caymus Vineyards. In 1989, Charles Wagner and Winemaker Jon Bolta worked together to develop new and nontraditional wines designed specifically to pair with the creative dishes being offered by a new generation of chefs. Conundrum, an independent brand, owned by the Wager family, was established. Innovating and striving to achieve intensity of flavor, Conundrum is renowned for its highly stylized and aromatic wines.
