Britney Spears lost custody of her two sons to her husband, Kevin Federline, after her public breakdown in 2008.
Apparently the combination of the lost custody of her children, following her breakdown, was just the type of “shock” treatment Spears needed to get her life under control. She has successfully proven her ability to manage her life, and her children since her breakdown through a stint in rehab, and then with her very successful “Circus” comeback tour.
Circus has been a re-enactment of her breakdown and recovery, in three parts, and has been touring the world since March 2009.
The recovered Britney Spears has won back joint custody of her two boys, and won the hearts of fans around the world. Winning the hearts of British fans culminated in her being voted "best celebrity mum."
Christina Aguilera took 2nd place with 12% of the votes, followed by Angelina Jolie. Other celebrities in the top ten included Madonna, Nicole Richie, and Vicoria Beckham.
In addition to this recent success, a notice posted just yesterday, from her official website reads, “New York, NY - Britney Spears debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her new single "3," making her the first artist to do so in over three years, Billboard magazine reports. The critically acclaimed single will also debut at #1 on the Billboard Digital charts.”
