A Story for when we're Grandads is an award-winning darkly comic thriller which follows the lives of two unemployed young men who fake the symptoms of mental illness to claim benefits. Their drunken lifestyles lead Mike and Dave into ridiculously amusing situations, and eventually to a police cell and mental hospital. Then a mysterious stranger leaves them a briefcase of money and the police are knocking at their door, but there's just one thing they'd like to know"¦ does the off-licence deliver?

Things start to hot up when they find themselves mixed up in a murder case"¦and a whole heap of trouble. A Story for when we're Grandads from Lancashire-based Random Productions, is cutting edge with a plot line that will hook you like an old fashioned mystery. It includes possibly the scariest Elvis impersonator you might ever witness, skydiving, sinister strangers, police interrogations and more.

Written by Lancashire writer Patrick McConnell and produced by Blackpool's own Lynne Payne, the show won the Buxton Festival Fringe Award for 'Best New Writing' last year and was also nominated for 'Best Production'.
