John Murtha Back in ICU

U.S. Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) is back in the hospital after undergoing gallbladder surgery last week.

Murtha was admitted earlier today to the intensive care unit at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. Hospital officials are referring all other inquiries about Murtha's condition to his family.

Murtha had undergone scheduled surgery to remove his gallbladder at Bethesda Naval Hospital last week. Staff in the Representative's office have declined to comment on the seriousness of his condition.

Murtha, 77, chairs the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee. He is in his 18th term in Congress.
