Index Engines, the leader in next-generation enterprise discovery solutions, today announced that National Data Conversion (NDC) has selected the Index Engines Enterprise Discovery Platform as a key component of the company's expanded litigation and compliance services offering. NDC's comprehensive media restoration and processing experience coupled with Index Engines Discovery solution provides customers with the most advanced electronic discovery and restoration service available - reducing the data discovery process from weeks to hours.

With more than 20 years of domain expertise, NDC offers the broadest array of backup tape restoration, data conversion and litigation data management services to law firms, eDiscovery service providers, corporations and governments all over the world. NDC has a proven track record of success identifying and restoring billions of records of electronic data and email for clients who need rapid access to their information - saving significant time and money.

Recent amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) underline the increasing amount of legal requests involving digitally stored information. To comply with these new requirements, organizations will need to review their discovery processes to depend more on information technology to uncover relevant email, files and other data that is housed on file systems and applications on primary data storage systems, backup tapes and tape archives. NDC and Index Engines provide a powerful combination in helping to solve this complex problem that is exacerbated by explosive data growth.

"FRCP and regulatory compliance mandates are forcing companies to take a hard look at how they manage their backup data and retrieval processes," said Chris Clark, Chief Operating Officer, NDC. "Companies must know how to identify what they have and present it in a timely manner to avoid stiff penalties. We selected Index Engines because they have the ability to rapidly identify and access files sitting on tapes without restoring them. This is truly an industry first and it will significantly compress the electronic discovery process. This allows our mutual clients to efficiently cast a wider net around their enterprise data discovery and find what they need to present for litigation or compliance purposes."

Index Engines' Enterprise Discovery Platform will serve as the engine behind NDC's data discovery process. NDC will integrate the technology as part of the company's pre-discovery processing to rapidly identify, access, and index historical information stored on tape. The Index Engine appliance automates information access and retrieval by streamlining online discovery and eliminating the need to restore offline tape content in order to view actionable data. This approach dramatically compresses the electronic discovery process making all corporate data accessible, easily searchable, and available for litigation purposes at a small fraction of the cost of manually intensive processes.

"NDC is a leader in their industry and they are at the forefront of innovation in the tape restoration and processing for eDiscovery and litigation and we are pleased to have been selected as the company's core electronic discovery solution," said Jim McGann, vice president of marketing, Index Engines. "Together we will help companies get a handle on their discovery challenges to ensure they have access to their data when and where they need it to minimize risk and reduce costs" - Index Engines.
