Gemstone mp3 Series Features Wireless Headphones, Bright Color Screens,
Expansion Memory Slots and Splash-Proof Designs

RCA introduces the new Gem Line of digital music players in 2007, making a fashion statement in a world of look-alike mp3 players that treat every consumer the same. Named for precious gemstones, the new Gem Line includes the stylish RCA Pearl for elegance and simplicity, RCA Opal for music and showing off favorite photos and short videos on a color screen, and the built-for-the gym RCA Jet and RCA Jet Stream, which cuts the cord between the mp3 player and headphones.

The new line offers a stylish alternative for virtually every consumer. The Jet Stream is ideal for the gym rat who wants to exercise to a beat without wires getting in the way. The Opal is both a music player and showcase for photos of the kids and friends or even fun videos. And the Pearl is a discrete, lipstick-sized mp3 player that doubles as USB drive for computer files.

And it won't break the bank to add some style - since all of the RCA Gem Line players offer outstanding value. Each will be available later this spring.

RCA Jet Stream: A New Way to go Wireless

One of the biggest frustrations of those who use their mp3 players for workouts is the cord between the player and the headphones. Some people snake the cords through their clothing, or clip them to the back. But the new RCA Jet Stream solves that problem with a unique wireless system that seamlessly delivers crystal-clear music from player to headphones without needing a hardwired connection.

Even better than wireless options used for cellphones, the new RCA Jet Stream utilizes new technology that conserves battery life, minimizes interference from other wireless sources, and delivers improved fidelity with "lossless" transmission of favorite music from player to wireless stereo headphones. With even better dynamic range than FM radio or digital TV broadcasts, the new RCA Jet Stream player offers an answer long desired by runners, weightlifters, and those who use exercise equipment like elliptical training machines. The Jet Stream's wireless technology sips energy from rechargeable batteries in the wireless headphones, insuring 12 hours of playback from a single charge.

In addition to wireless headphones, the Jet Stream is designed to be splash-resistant and comes with a stopwatch and body mass index calculator. The unit plays WMA, mp3, and WMA DRM files. Song, track, and artist information is displayed on the unit's 1.5-inch multi-line OLED screen. It's also easy to record FM radio programs on the RCA Jet Stream, which has 1GB of memory and carries a suggested retail price of $149.

Take the RCA Jet to the Gym

The RCA Jet offers all of the features of the Jet Stream, but with conventional wired connections for the silicone in-ear clip-phones. Perfect for the gym or a hike outdoors, the RCA Jet mp3 player, available in 1GB and 2GB versions, is built tough and is splash-resistant. A built-in stopwatch and body mass index calculator make this a must-have music player for workout enthusiasts.

Audio playback options include mp3, WMA and protected WMA files, giving listeners a variety of playback options. A digital FM tuner enables users to listen to their favorite radio stations when they want a change of pace from their stored music libraries. Users can also record from the radio.

The 1GB RCA Jet will have a suggested retail price of $69. The 2GB RCA Jet has a suggested retail price of $89 - RCA.
