French First Lady Carla Bruni to Star in Hollywood Movie

Allen was in France back in June to promote this movie Whatever Works. While there, he visited the French first couple in Paris and supposedly extended the invitation to Bruni then.

The 41-year old supermodel turned singer, has appeared in a few movies, but the appearances have been brief and she has always played herself. She was in Robert Altman’s fashion satire, Pret-a-Porter and the French film, Paparazzi.

Bruni became France’s First Lady when she married President Nicolas Sarkozy last year. Since her marriage, she has focused on her singing career, releasing an album, but keeping concerts to a minimum.

Bruni’s sister, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, on the other hand, is a successful French actress and director.

Details about the movie are largely unknown at this point. It is rumored to be released some time in 2010.
