Taylor Swift and Beyonce Top 2010 Grammy Nominations's List

The 2010 Grammy Nominations list is already out. Not surprisingly Taylor Swift and Beyonce are top contenders in four of the same categories once again. Beyonce is up for a total of 10 Grammy Awards and Swift eight.

In a repeat of the MTV VMA awards, Swift’s “You Belong With Me” goes up against Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” for Song of the year. “Use Somebody”, “Poker Face” and Hod David Musze’s “Pretty Wings” round out the Song of the Year category. Swift’s “You Belong With Me” and Beyonce’s “Halo” are up for Record of the Year, along with The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got a Feeling”, Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”

In the Album of the Year category, Swift’s “Fearless” and Beyonce’s “ I Am…Sasha Fierce” are both lead nominations. The Black Eyed Peas’ “ The E.N.D.”, Lady Gaga’s “Fame” and the Dave Matthews Band’s “Big Whiskey and The Groogrux King” are also nominated for album of the year.

Swift and Beyonce are also both nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “You Belong With Me” and “Halo” respectively. Adele’s “Hometown Glory”, Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” and Pink’s “Sober” are also nominations for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

In addition, Beyonce is also nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy Award, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, “At Last”, Best R&B Song, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”, Best Contemporary R&B Album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce”, Best Rap/Song Collaboration, “Ego” with Kanye West and Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Visual Media “Once in a Lifetime” from Cadillac Records.

Swift is also up for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, “White Horse”, Best Country Song “White Horse”, Best Country Album “Fearless” and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, “Breathe” with Colbie Caillat.

The Grammy Awards cover all genres of music including genres not often talked about such as Folk, Gospel, Classical and Jazz.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
