Frankfurt Main Trading Hall Reopens On 26 February

On 26 February, trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange will return to the newly renovated Main Trading Hall. By then, the construction work that started back on 9 October 2006 in a move by Deutsche Börse to make functional enhancements and give the Trading Hall a new, modern look will have been completed.

The newly renovated Trading Hall of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange will boast a number of new design features in addition to the well-known DAX board and price display system. An IPO counter, for example, designed especially for companies going public, will be available below the DAX board.

A new glass lobby will also provide a visible link between the foyer of the stock exchange building and the Trading Hall, enabling a direct view of action on the trading floor. Other features will include new broker cubicles, new parquet flooring, the installation of new overhead lighting and the complete overhaul of the IT infrastructure. Trading will continue to take place in other areas of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange until the Main Trading Hall is reopened.

The Frankfurt Stock Exchange will continue to focus on two market models: intermediary-based trading on the floor and fully electronic Xetra trading. Floor trading is aimed primarily at private investors, who have access to a comprehensive range of products and can trade between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. -- www.deutsche-boerse.com
