Two Biggest Loser Teams Get a Second Chance

America's popular weight loss show The Biggest Loser, is giving two teams another chance at stardom. The Blue team’s Cherita and Vicky will compete head to head against the Yellow team's O'Neal and Sunshine to see who has the greatest weight loss.

The two teams were booted off from The Biggest Loser show during the first week’s elimination challenge which involved bicycle riding. Their weight loss progress proved too little to continue on the show. This is the fifth week of the television competition which has seen many surprises and challenges.

A recent immunity challenge pit the teams against football-tackling dummies. The Superbowl-themed contest was quite the task – one member from each team had to race to hit the dummies a cool 1,000 times. The White team’s sole surviving member, Michael managed to grab immunity despite fierce competition from both the Red and the Grey team.

The returning Yellow and Blue teams, however, weren’t guaranteed a slot on the show. They first had to prove their worth by showing how much weight they actually loss in the interim.

Cherita and Vicky, a mother-daughter team weighed and lost 24 and 30 pounds each. This proved to be not enough to win however. The Yellow team came in with a resounding 25 and 51 pound loss – all in one month. This came to a total 11.45 percent overall weight reduction. This means the Yellow team’s Sunshine and O’neal will be returning to The Biggest Loser Ranch.

In other developments, the Green team’s only member, Miggy had to be rushed to the hospital with an emergency appendectomy. She still managed to return to set and lose 5 pounds by simply walking (all she was able to do). John, of the Brown team, didn’t fare as well and was kicked off the ranch as a result of disappointing weight loss – he only lost 6 pounds.

NBC's weight loss extravaganza, The Biggest Loser airs weekly on Tuesdays starting at 8PM.
