Fatal Shooting at University Alabama Huntsville

Alabama University Huntsville was the site of a fatal shooting on campus on Friday, February 12, 2010. Three people have died and a fourth has been injured in the shooting at Shelby Hall on campus.

According to breaking news, a shooting on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville was the site of a fatal shooting. Three people were killed and one was wounded, according to a statement by university spokesman Ray Garner, as reported on CNN on Friday, February 12, 2010.

A female shooter is already in custody. The shooting occurred at about 4:15 Pm in Shelby Hall on the campus. There was biology faculty meeting on Friday morning. The WHNT TV reports stated that a faculty member who had been denied tenure at the university opened fire on the third floor of the building.

The victims were reportedly on staff at the university. Names have not been released to the public.

The campus was on lock down for about an hour after the incident, according to the local news report on WHNT-TV. The campus has now been cleared and is secured with crime scene tape.
