
Forbes Magazine has released a list of the cities with the most affordable housing in the U.S., according to the Housing Opportunity Index with is published quarterly by the National Association of Home Builders and Wells Fargo, fourth quarter of 2009. Pittsburgh leads with list as the city with the most affordable housing.
The analysis takes into account the attractiveness of the housing market. Criteria includes appreciation, prices that show homeowners are making wise investments; an affordability rating that can give middle class families with good credit ratings entry into the housing market; and a relatively low number of foreclosures, which keeps prices stable and indicate that whether is not an excess of inventory.
The cities with the best housing markets also have a good base of jobs in the surrounding area and affordable housing for middle income families.
