Deadliest Catch Captain to Sail on Holland America in Alaska

Captain Keith Colburn of the 'Deadliest Catch' on Discovery Channel, is going to be aboard Holland America Line's Alaskan Explorer Voyage during the summer of 2010, according to a March 23, 2010 press release.

Fans of the hit Discovery Channel reality series, Deadliest Catch, may want to take a voyage on Holland America Line's ms Zaandam. Captain Keith Colburn has signed on as part of the guest enrichment program on the June 18, 2010 voyage on Holland America. The voyage is a seven-day cruise that sails round-trip from Seattle, and calls at Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan, Alaska, and Victoria, B.C., Canada.

Colburn will be sharing his expertise on how to select, crack and clean fresh crab, while the executive chef demonstrates different ways to prepare and serve this Alaskan seafood favorite.

Colburn is one of more than 65 celebrated chefs and wine experts scheduled to sail in 2010 and share their expertise in the line's Culinary Arts Center, presented by Food & Wine magazine. Travelers on the Holland America Line will be able to learn some culinary tips while enjoying the scenic beauty of Alaska.

'Deadliest Catch has been Discovery Channel's number one regular series since debuting in 2005. Colburn is the captain of Wizard, one of a fleet of vessels that navigate the dangerous high seas in search of crab.

Voyagers visiting Ketchikan, Alaska, can get a behind the scenes look at life aboard the Aleutian Ballad, on Holland America Line's 'Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour.' The Aleutian Ballad is seen on the Discovery Channel's 'Deadliest Catch' program. The three and an half hour tour sails in the calm, protected waters of coastal Ketchikan and reveals all manner of sea life, including a crew hauling crab pots and fishing lines.
