VIDEO: Tim Tebow Super Bowl ad anti-abortion?

An ad, starring Florida pro QB Tim Tebow, is set to air during the 2010 Super Bowl and is raising controversy with women's groups who believe the Tim Tebow ad will divide sports fans instead of uniting them. The commercial, sponsored by the conservative Christian group "Focus on the Family" is airing the ad spot with a focus on "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life."

The ad which retells the story of Pam Tebow's pregnancy in 1987 in which she refused to get an abortion, giving birth later to Tim, is said by women's groups to portray an anti-abortion message and is inappropriate for air during the Super Bowl.

"An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year – an event designed to bring Americans together," Jehmu Greene, president of the New York-based Women's Media Center, said in a statement to the press.

In a press conference, QB Tim Tebow gave his feelings in a statement, saying, "Some people won't agree with it but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe."

He added, "I'm never shy about that. I don't feel like I'm preachy about but I still do stand up for what I believe and at least you can respect that," he said, while also mentioning he understands that it's rare in sports for an athlete to take a stand for what they believe - Even if it's controversial.
