Samantha Harris makes a bad career move, quits 'Dancing With the Stars'

Apparently getting a job as one of the hosts on “The Insider” has gone to Samantha Harris' head.

The longtime co-host of the ultra successful hit show, ABC's “Dancing With the Stars” has quit and will not be a part of the show’s 10th season beginning March 22.

Since 2006, Harris has co-hosted the show with Tom Bergeron.

“I’m going to miss Samantha. We had a nice rapport off-camera and on. I could see that her workload was picking up on ‘The Insider.’ As somebody who’s been known to juggle a few jobs myself, I know that that can pull you in eight different directions,” Bergeron told People.

“DWTS” executive producer Conrad Green said he has already started looking for Harris’ replacement. “Samantha has been a brilliant part of [DWTS] and we wish her the best of luck on The Insider. She’s done an incredible job. Some of the most memorable moments on the show have been facilitated by Samantha. I think we’ll all walk away with enormous happy memories of working with one another.”

Harris has left a franchise show for what she has described as “other projects.”
In the highly competitive television business, it is not a good idea to toss aside a unique star making position. It would be like Ryan Seacrest announcing that he is departing from “American Idol.”

Her primary job on “Dancing was interviewing the contestants while they waited for the judges results.

Agents are already pitching a host of potential replacements to the show.

The producers had already been talking with Paula Abdul, but she is probably going to make a deal to be on Simon Cowell's new show, the “X Factor.”
