A very rich 49 year old socialite has allegedly taken the life of her 8-year-old son and then attempted suicide reportedly because of her failed marriage.
Various media outlets have reported that Gigi Jordan was discovered by police officers who were searching through a luxury Peninsula hotel on Fifth Ave in New York City.
Police found the small body of the woman's 8-year-old child laying next to Jordan. Her son had been dead about one day before the police found him with his mother.
Pills were strewn throughout the room. Police indicated that the boy was foaming at the mouth purportedly from the drugs his mother gave him or coerced him to take.
Notes likely to be suicide messages were dispersed around the room. Jordan has already lawyered up and is predictably refusing to answer questions from the investigating officers.
Evidently Jordan was in a terrrible emotional state over her marriage in that a divorce was imminent. She had told her aunt who resides in Belgium that she was contemplating killing both herself and her son.
Upon finding Jordan and seeing evidence that she may have overdosed on prescription medication, quick thinking police took her to Bellevue Hospital and the hospital staff were able to resuscitate her.
