Google's new social-networking tool, Buzz is being criticized based on privacy concerns.
Buzz was introduced by Google to compete with other social media sited like Facebook and Twitter.
The Buzz technology compiles a list of Gmail contacts that are most often chatted with or e-mailed.
Because the names on the list are automatically followed by Buzz, the list is made somewhat public, effectively disclosing a private contact list.
Buzz does limit the information to those who are currently have set up public profiles in Google. Buzz users have the ability similar to Twitter and Facebook to "unfollow" those they prefer not to be linked with. Users also have the ability to hide those they are following and being followed by.
But unless users modify the default mode private information goes public.
