President Bush, delivering the final and most introspective press conference of his two terms in the White House, today acknowledged several mistakes and disappointments -- yet voiced a defiant insistence too.

President George W. Bush has been a victim of unforseen circumstances caused by forces he could not control and we cannot blame him for the grave consequences of the catastrophe of the war in Iraq.
I ask those who rush to condemn him.
