Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Christine Beatty In Sex SMS Scandal

Everybody in Detroit and Michigan knows that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has a sordid past. From allegations to an urban legend stripper party supposedly held at the Manoogian Mansion to the rumors of infidelity with a variety of women. Mayor Kilpatrick has vehemently denied these tales of cheating on his wife to the voters and to his wife. However, the story with Christine Beatty is different.

After months of investigations, The Detroit Free Press has obtained records of text messages from 2003 to 2004 that prove the Mayor lied under oath during a recent whistleblower's trial. These text messages, exchanged with Christine Beatty, are explicit and do not leave room for any political spin.

Some of the messages the Mayor and Christine Beatty, his chief of staff sent to one another are:

"I'm madly in love with you," Kilpatrick wrote on Oct. 3, 2002.

"I hope you feel that way for a long time," Beatty answered. "In case you haven't noticed, I am madly in love with you, too!"

Other texts contain sexual content, like this exchange on April 8, 2003:

Beatty: "And, did you miss me, sexually?"

Kilpatrick: "Hell yeah! You couldn't tell. I want some more. Don't sleep!"

I don't think Mayor Kilpatrick will be running for re-election. His trust factor just went down the tubes.

The Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has asked that the media respect his family, friends and staff at this time as he was going through a rough emotional time in his life.

I bet Kwame will run for reelection, and the kicker is...the stupid people of Detroit would probably vote him in office again.

Hey, Rodney: You're right! Sad to say that you're right. Already my goofy neighbors are saying that "it's nobody's 'bidness' what the mayor does and who he does it with". And they love him even more. He'll get re-elected mayor for sure but his political credibility north of 8 Mile Road is vaporised.

Yeah, the "stupid" people of Detroit will propable vote for Kwame again just like the stupid people of America voted for Bush!

I would have to agree with Rodney.. And I am a Detroiter!!.. We (not I) constantly fall for anything.. Like why do we still have hope in the Lions??!!??

I think the mayor is too sloppy and too immature to be in the position he is in. I hate that he is the stereotypical black male that everyone expected him to be from the big diamond earring to the camel hair lincoln Navigator. He's still trying to win a popularity contest and sleep with tons of women. They've compared his situation to Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski but the difference is that nobody was ever killed or demoted and tax payers didn't experience an 8 million dollar expenditure. Despite the good things he's done for Detroit, they seem to be outshined by the bad. I think that within everyone lies good and bad its just a matter of how much bad lies within you and if you own up to your wrongs and try to fix them in the future. I don't think Kwame is a good guy and he'd much sooner kill you before he admits he's done something wrong. His ego is way to big and him and he's just too immature and selfish to be in controll of himself. Maybe he should be demoted! That sad part is, Detroiters are so use to seeing negativity so much that this will (also) be acceptable and if no one else steps in, the mayor will continue to serve.

The mayor of Detroit needs to step down, he is disgrace to the city.
