Home driveway shoveing tip

Missouri Department of Transportation posted this useful video for homeowners teaching how to shovel your drive and not get snow plowed back over the entrance.

There is a simple way to shower snow and not get it plowed back across the entrance of your driveway, ultimately blocking you in. Here is how.

When facing the street, you need to shovel away the snow that is resting along the shoulder to the left of your driveway entrance. By creating this open area you will eliminate the chance of the a plow pushing snow back across your entry way. The open area can be about 10 ft.

These easy steps will keep your driveway entrance clear and you from doing another around of shoveling.

This was the first year that we have ever had to shovel our drive. In fact last year we gave away the snow shovel and needed it this year. Go figure.
