The Vatican may reach out in an attempt to save Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a mother of two, who faces stoning to death in Iran. As yet, no formal appeal has been made, however.

A 75-year-old Bosnia woman, who lives in the same town as the alleged "YouTube puppy thrower," claims to have saved the puppies the young girl threw into a river. There are a few questions about her claim, however, including the fact that the puppies don't look quite the same.

British press says Iran pays Taliban to kill U.S. Soldiers

All day yesterday, the buzz was Tony Blair 's lack of regret for siding with George Bush and the attack on Iraq. Blair said he had "no regrets." He also said that Iran is responsible for much of the terrorist ideology that fuels the Taliban. Today, his words ring true as reports indicate Iran has sponsored and funded the deaths and attacks on American troops in Afghanistan.

Google Docs get the Konami Code

It's silly, but it's a holiday weekend, and thus it's an interesting way to spend a few minutes while waiting for the next barbecue. Google engineers have added a Konami Code Easter Egg to Google Docs.
