One final thought, Bobby Jindal was picked to give the republican response to tonight's Presidential address. His position was basically that the government should do nothing to help people, and we should work this out ourselves. The classic republican "hands off" approach to governing. It is ludicrous that people still advocate such views.

Amen to that! When I have kids one day, I'll insist that they go out and play sometimes. And that they actually read books!
