TXTBlocker has announced a new product for cell phones that allows owners to disable texting and other functions while a user is driving. The announcement was nicely timed for the same week that the Department of Transportation held a distracted driving conference.

A new "texting while driving" PSA (public service announcement) from the U.K. pulls no punches. It also makes no attempt to hide the graphic consequences for someone distracted by their SMS messages while driving, either (picture from PSA attached).

Although some states have banned text messaging while driving or driving without a hands-free setup or a headset, some experts contend that even with those restrictions, drivers are still too distracted when using a cell phone.
