San Diego Museum Introduces International Aerospace Hall Of Fame

On October 25th, the San Diego Air & Space Museum is honoring national and international air and space legends at its 45th Hall of Fame Induction and Gala. Each honoree was selected for their historic contributions to aviation, space, or aviation technology.

San Diego Museum Exhibits Military Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Visitors to the National Air and Space Museum will get a glimpse of six aircraft representing a cross section of modern unmanned flight technology in the new “Military Unmanned Aerial Vehicles” exhibition. UAVs are used by all four military branches for missions ranging from reconnaissance and surveillance to attack; and each branch is represented in this exhibit: Predator, DarkStar, X-45A (Air Force); Shadow 200 (Army); Dragon Eye (Marine Corps); and Pioneer (Navy).

'In Plane View' Exhibit Opens At San Diego Museum

“In Plane View,” an exhibition of 56 large-format photographs by Carolyn Russo showcasing the aesthetic quality of some of the National Air and Space Museum’s iconic aircraft, will be on display March 21, 2008 through Jan. 2, 2009.

Smithsonian Museum Presents “America By Air”

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum will open its newest permanent exhibition, “America by Air,” on Nov. 17. With a dramatic array of artifacts, photographs, artwork and interactives—many at full scale—the gallery will tell in sweeping detail the story of passenger air travel in the United States, from the early attempts to form airlines only a decade after Kitty Hawk to the commercial challenges and technical sophistication of the 21st-century jet age.

Air And Space Museum Presents VX-9 Vampires Lecture

The VX-9 Vampires is a U.S. Navy Air Test and Evaluation Squadron based at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. Their tail code is XE, and they fly numerous USN and USMC aircraft and helicopters. One of the aircraft is the U.S. Navy's newest and finest air superiority strike fighter, the Super Hornet.
