Florida, as expected, remains at the top of the BCS Rankings Week 11. Meanwhile, for the second straight week, Texas and Alabama swapped spots with Alabama now No. 2.

Today's LSU vs. Alabama football game ended as the rankings indicated it should, with Alabama winning 24 - 15. This sets up a rematch against Florida for the SEC championship.

Since taking the No. 1 position in the AP poll in week 8, Alabama has slid twice. The Crimson Tide dropped to No. 3 in the AP NCAA Football Poll for Week 10, as Texas leapfrogged them.

Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford was found guilty and convicted of multiple counts of bribery in a federal corruption trial in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday. Now a convicted felon, Langford immediately ceases to be mayor due to Alabama law and City Council President Carole Smitherman will be the interim mayor until a special election can be held.

Breaking news is coming out of Birmingham, Alabama as the local police department is releasing the Birmingham police beating tape. In the video attached to this story you can see how the police is beating already what appears to be an unconscious driver. However, I personally can understand the police frustration when the driver hit and run another officer seen in this video.

Last night we reported about the shooting in Samson Alabama that left ten people killed including children. This morning Alabama Department of Public Safety released the name of the suspect who is Michael McClendon and how it all began.

A Baptist evangelist minister and critic of Islam was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree attempted arson for allegedly burning tax records of his religious organization in an attempt to set his building on fire. Anis Shorrosh, 75, of Daphne, Alabama, was arrested after a fire was discovered Tuesday night in the trash room of the Loma Alta Towers condominium where he lives. 50 residents had to be evacuated from the building, but no one was hurt.

Voters in Alabama's two coastal counties will go to the polls ahead of those in other states picking presidential favorites on Super Tuesday.

Alabama and Colorado Meet tonight in Petrosun Independence Bowl. PetroSun Independence Bowl officials announced on Sunday that the Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Colorado Buffaloes in the 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl set for Sunday, Dec. 30 in primetime at 7 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN from Independence Stadium.
