For its annual summer festival of contemporary opera, music and theatre, the Almeida Theatre will present a programme which includes the London premiere of An Ocean of Rain, a specially commissioned opera by Yannis Kyriakides and Daniel Danis, the European premiere of Adam Rapp’s Nocturne and British African Theatre Company Tiata Fahodzi’s first week long residency at the Almeida.

Thea Sharrock will direct Caryl Churchill’s Cloud Nine, previewing at the Almeida Theatre from 25 October with press night on 31 October, running until 8 December. Designs are by Peter McKintosh, with lighting by Peter Mumford, sound by Gregory Clarke, music by Stephen Warbeck and choreography by Scarlett Mackmin.

Michael Attenborough, Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre, will direct the European Premiere of African-American playwright Theodore Ward's Big White Fog. Big White Fog will open on 11 May with press night on 17 May and runs until 30 June. Designs are by Jonathan Fensom with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by John Leonard.
