One of the few family oriented shows in television may change radically. Shock jock Howard Stern, the most fined by the FCC, has been offered Simon Cowell's seat on "American Idol."

General Larry Platt made entertainment news when he performed, "Pants on the Ground" in front of American Idol judges in Atlanta earlier in the month. On Sunday night, January 31, Platt will perform his viral hit at the 2010 Grammy Awards pre-show.

Paula Abdul needs to get back in the limelight since leaving American Idol. It seems only appropriate that she appear on Dancing with the Stars as a contestant but what if she didn't win? That might be devastating. Rumors are flying that DWTS would welcome Abdul on their next show and it would be good publicity for the show since the celebrity dancers weren't been all that spectacular in the last season.

The Minnesota Vikings may have lost out on a chance to go to the Superbowl, but they gained a new mascot. The team flew General Larry Platt, known for his Pants on the Ground audition on American Idol, to New Orleans to inspire the Vikings before Sunday's NFC game against the New Orleans Saints.

Wednesday night brought another round of auditions for American Idol Season 9 and this time the search for talent was in Orlando, Florida. The guest judge for yet another night of interesting entertainment was Kristin Chenoweth who most recently appeared in the ABC show, Pushing Daisies. There were a few talented vocalists, a man who decided to scream his song and one contestant taken away in handcuffs. A big night for American Idol.

La Toya Jackson is a woman who knows what she wants and apparently she's shooting for the top spot on American Idol. With the announcement that Simon Cowell will be leaving at the end of Season 9, Jackson told TMZ that she would "LOVE to be a judge on American Idol."

The American Idol auditions are undoubtedly some of the most entertaining moments on the popular show that is now in its ninth season.
