Vice President Atiku Abubakar of Nigeria has been cleared by the Supreme Court to contest the presidential election on Saturday April 21, 2007.

Over 46 people were killed on Saturday April 14, in one of the bloodiest elections in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation and it's largest oil producer. Seven police men were killed as militants attacked and razed three police stateions in the Niger Delta and at least 40 civilians were killed in bloody political clashes in several states across Nigeria.

Lawan Ibrahim, one of the millions of poor Nigerian voters in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria said he won't vote for the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), because the PDP led government of President Olusegun Obasanjo failed to improve his living condition in the two terms of 8 years.
