Six Flags Over Georgia is flooded. In fact, most of the roller coasters and amusement park rides are drowning under the cold muddy water. The deadly storm that dropped over 20 inches to the southern states, has caused more than roller coasters flooding. The torrential rains have claimed seven lives as of this morning, with other still missing.

A series of thunderstorms closed schools, highways and railroads across metropolitan Atlanta on Monday. Two people have been confirmed dead and emergency crews are searching for many more reported missing by the Atlanta flooding.

The first major traveling exhibition of works by Ulysses Davis in more than 25 years will premiere at the High Museum of Art this December. Davis was a barber in Savannah, Georgia, who was also a self-taught woodcarver of remarkable talent. He created a body of highly refined sculpture that expresses his humor, dignity and deep faith. The exhibition offers an opportunity for audiences to appreciate Davis’ remarkable work, which is rarely seen outside of Savannah.

The High Museum of Art will present “The First Emperor: China’s Terracotta Army,” an exhibition inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

"Young Americans," a dynamic new series of photographs by Atlanta-based photographer Sheila Pree Bright, will debut at the High Museum of Art from May 3 to August 10, 2008. The exhibition explores the identities of U.S. citizens and immigrants pursuing citizenship by presenting portraits of Americans aged 18 to 25, each posing with an American flag.

This October the High Museum of Art will present "The Louvre and the Masterpiece," which will explore how the definition of a "masterpiece," as well as taste and connoisseurship, have changed over time. The exhibition will feature ninety-one works of art drawn from all eight of the Musée du Louvre's collection areas, spanning 4,000 years.

A tornado has struck downtown Atlanta leaving extensive damage to a sporting complex and surrounding buildings. Injuries are reported although details at this hour are sketchy.
