During its 2006-2007 Season, Ballet Austin, one of the preeminent dance companies in the United States, will celebrate 50 years of dance productions to Central Texas audiences.

Ballet Austin announced today the much anticipated start to renovation of its Butler Dance Education Center located at 3rd and San Antonio Streets. The project will take approximately 9 months to complete with grand opening ceremonies scheduled to take place mid-May 2007. The project management contract awarded to Harvey-Cleary will bring to fruition the beautiful design of The Bommarito Group with the support of Broaddus and Associates to complete the team.

Set in a "Vivienne Westwood meets Andy Warhol" 18th century France, this spectacular and hugely entertaining production of Scottish Ballet's Cinderella, choreographed by celebrated Artistic Director Ashley Page, features sumptuous sets and costume designs by award-winning designer Antony McDonald.

Together with the world´s leading symphony orchestras - the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the London Symphony and the Rotterdam Philharmonic - Valery Gergiev will embark on a mammoth world tour to mark one hundred years since the birth of Dmitry Shostakovich.
