English National Announces Autumn Tour

Following the huge success of The Sleeping Beauty revival in 2005, English National Ballet will once again perform MacMillan’s classic production in Autumn and Winter 2008/09 (15 October – 30 November). This will be joined by the Royal Danish Ballet’s production of MacMillan’s Manon. This will be the first time English National Ballet has performed Manon in its history, and the first time the production has toured the UK outside London.

Opera National De Paris To Present NYC Ballet

Gerard Mortier, General Director of the Opera National de Paris, and Brigitte Lefevre, Dance Director of the Opera National de Paris, announced today at a press conference hosted by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York City, that the Opera National de Paris will present New York City Ballet for a two-week season, September 9 through 21, 2008, at Paris’ Opera Bastille.

Boston Ballet Tours To Korea

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announced today its first trip to Korea August 23 – September 1, 2008, which is the company’s second tour to Asia in its history. The company will perform three repertory works: George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia and Twyla Tharp’s In The Upper Room at Universal Arts Center in Seoul and Goyang Cultural Arts Complex in Gyeonggi-do.

NYC Ballet Highlights 2009 Winter Season

New York City Ballet’s 2009 winter repertory season will open on Tuesday, January 6, with an all-Balanchine program consisting of Chaconne, The Four Temperaments, and Vienna Waltzes, and will continue for eight weeks, through Sunday, March 1, with performances of more than 40 different ballets from NYCB’s unparalleled repertory.
