Longtime Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) passed away on Tuesday, and plans are being made for his funeral and burial. On Saturday, a funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, and later that day he will be buried at Arlington National Cemetary, next to his brothers, JFK and RFK.

The case of Henry Louis Gates and arresting officer Sgt. James Crowley still has legs, it seems. Through a Massachusetts public records request, the Boston Herald has uncovered a number of complaints filed against Crowley in the past.

As if to confirm Henry Louis Gates' accusations of racism and racial profiling against the Boston PD, Boston police officer Justin Barrett sent an email containing racist comments to The Boston Globe, members of his National Guard unit and a select few Boston police officers. He has since been suspended, pending a termination hearing.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded first baseman Adam LaRoche to the Boston Red Sox, according to multiple reports. This appears to be a rent-a-player deal as LaRoche will be a free agent after this season.

22-year-old Philip Markoff has been charged in connection with two Craigslist attacks in the Boston area, including the murder of 29-year-old Julissa Brisman.
