New England Boat Show Returns To Boston

The 52nd annual New England Boat Show sails back to Boston with a new arrival date, January 12 – 20, at the new Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. As the premier boating event in the Northeast, the 2008 New England Boat Show is expected to be the largest show ever in Boston with nearly $80 million of boats and accessories on display.

Boston Orchetsra Performs Così Fan Tutte

The Boston Youth Symphony (BYS), under the artistic leadership of Music Director Federico Cortese, will perform a semi-staged version of Così fan tutte, Mozart's celebrated opera buffa, with some of the region’s finest professional soloists. The performance, part of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras' (BYSO) 50th anniversary season, takes place at Sanders Theatre at Harvard University on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at 3 pm. Performed in Italian with surtitles.

Boston Chorus Presents 'Peace On Earth'

The 150-voice Boston Gay Men’s Chorus will celebrate the season with a heartwarming and entertaining tour of holiday music from across the globe with three concerts titled “Peace On Earth – Holidays Around the World.” Under the direction of Reuben Reynolds, the performances will be held on Friday, December 7 at 8 pm, Saturday, December 8 at 3 pm and again on Saturday, December 8 at 8 pm. All concerts are held at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall.

Using recognizable images from contemporary advertising excerpted from the Internet to create an animated five-panel collage, Evans turns a critical eye on contemporary American culture and challenges the viewer to confront issues of power, politics, militarism life-style and control in our society.
