China's Foreign Ministry says the Dalai Lama was in breach of Buddhist religious protocol when he suggested he might appoint a successor before his death instead of relying on reincarnation.

NYU’s China House is hosting a symposium on Buddhist art, Wednesday, October 17th, 2007 at 4:00pm to 6:00pm, titled “Buddhist Art in Context”. There will be a panel discussion, followed by a question and answer session and a reception.

An Indonesian cave used for meditation by Buddhist monks in the 12th century contains previously undiscovered sculptures depicting the spiritual journey of Buddha, a religious leader said.
