Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) today released the 2009 Congressional Pig Book, the latest installment in the group’s 19-year exposé of pork-barrel spending. The Pig Book revealed 10,160 earmarks worth $19.6 billion.

The Green Party of the New York State calls for more funding in the NYS budget for green jobs, higher education and bottle bill. The party says there is a secrecy around the NYS budget negotiations.

President Obama has released his budget for fiscal year 2010, beginning in October, this morning. Most details of Obama budget are not available yet, but the Washington Post notes some of the details of the budget that will be announced when the budget is released.

Based off of his “four-legged stool” blueprint, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed an historic budget package to solve California’s $42 billion deficit that takes the necessary steps to reduce spending, bring in new revenue, improve our business climate and create jobs, and make government more efficient. Additionally, the Governor today used his line item veto authority to achieve nearly $1 billion more in General Fund (GF) savings for the state.
