However, the first sale occurred last night in New York City, where the first CTS-V earned a winning bid of $75,000 at a special charity auction benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The editors at Motor Trend, one of the world’s premiere automotive authorities, announced on 20 November that they have chosen the Cadillac CTS as the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year.

Cadillac announced the world premiere of the Escalade Hybrid, the world’s first fuel-saving hybrid applied to a large luxury SUV. Powered by an innovative, fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system, Escalade Hybrid will deliver more than a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy in city driving – all while delivering the same distinctive style, segment-leading features and full-size capability that have made the Escalade an icon.

Cadillac announced that the SLS, the stretched version of the STS luxury sedan, will become available in the Middle East in the first quarter of 2008. The SLS is based on the STS sedan with additional design and engineering work, as well as manufacturing, taking place at Shanghai GM’s state-of-the art facilities in Shanghai, China.

Today, General Motors announced its goal to reduce CO2 emissions from its North American manufacturing facilities by 40 percent by 2010, based on 2000 levels. GM is setting this target as part of its voluntary partnership in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Leaders program.
