Australian doctors say a new study shows digital mammogram technology can pick up abnormalities missed by conventional breast screening.

The wife of U.S. President George W. Bush arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday to launch the Breast Cancer Partnership program, a new initiative to fight cancer by raising awareness about the disease and increasing breast cancer research.

Researchers from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) found that patients who received a later stage cancer diagnosis were likely to be living in an unsafe neighborhood, using public transportation and traveling at least 45 minutes to get to a doctor's office. The study will be presented at this week's American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) in Los Angeles on April 15.
