Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2007, ending March 31, 2008, as well as for the first nine months. In the third quarter, consolidated net income after tax came to 132.2 billion yen (US $1.13 billion, euro 0.81 billion), up 26.6% compared with the same period a year ago.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it achieved an eighth consecutive all-time record for consolidated net sales and other operating revenue (herein referred to as “revenue”) for the fiscal third quarter due to increased sales revenue in its motorcycle, automobile and financial services businesses.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd., announced continued growth, with high demand and record sales for its automobiles and motorcycles across the world.

Ford Motor Credit Company reported net income of $775 million in 2007, down $508 million from earnings of $1,283 million a year earlier. On a pre-tax basis, Ford Motor Credit earned $1,215 million in 2007, down $738 million from 2006.

General Motors Latin America, Africa and Middle East (GM LAAM) region set an all-time CYTD record in 2007, selling 1,235,913 vehicles, up 200,600 units over 2006. GM’s volume increase of 19.4 percent for the year outpaced the industry growth rate for the region. In addition, LAAM’s annual market share increased to 17.2 percent for the year, representing its highest annual share.

General Motors sold 9,369,524 cars and trucks around the world in 2007, an increase of 3 percent, according to preliminary sales figures released today. In the fourth quarter, GM sold 2,305,752 vehicles, an increase of 4.8 percent compared with a year ago.

In 2007 the Mercedes-Benz Cars division increased sales of Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Maybach, and smart passenger vehicles worldwide, with sales totaling 1,285,900 vehicles (2006: 1,260,600 units). With this two percent growth, the division set a new sales record.

2007 was AUDI AG’s twelfth record year in a row worldwide. From January through December, 964,151 cars were handed over to customers – 6.5 percent more than in 2006 (905,188).

The BMW Group continued its successful course last year, reaching its best sales levels for all three automobile brands. Worldwide, 1,500,678 vehicles were delivered to customers (prev.yr.: 1,373,970), which corresponds to a 9.2% growth in sales.
