Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced its production, sales and export results for August 2007.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the month of August 2007, including an all-time record for overseas and worldwide auto production for the month of August.

The Mercedes Car Group has successfully completed its CORE program (Costs Down, Revenue up, Execution). CORE was launched in February 2005 with the objective to improve the competitiveness of Mercedes-Benz along the entire value chain and to achieve a return on sales of at least seven percent by 2007.

Buick will expand its international reach following a four-year agreement signed today by General Motors and Shanghai GM to export up to 25,000 of the brand’s hot-selling Enclave luxury crossover to China beginning in the second half of 2008.

General Motors Corp. and its Shanghai General Motors joint venture today signed a multi-year agreement worth more than $800 million to export U.S.-built Buick Enclave premium crossover sport utility vehicles along with other vehicles and components to China beginning in 2008.

New car sales dropped by almost 2 per cent last month, seasonally adjusted. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) says sales of new vehicles in August slipped by 1.9 per cent.

Ford of Europe’s cars and commercial vehicles continued to be in demand in August. Across its main 21 European markets, the company sold 103,600 vehicles, a 9 percent increase over August 2006.

GM dealers in the United States delivered 388,168 vehicles in August, up more than 5 percent compared with year-ago monthly sales, a strong performance that resulted in an anticipated highest-of-the-year market share of nearly 26 percent. Brisk sales of full-size pickups and crossover SUVs led the increase.

France's Renault SA once again lost out as European car sales slowed in April with gains in faster-growing eastern Europe failing to outweigh a slump in major car-buying nations Germany, France and Spain.
