Electric car corridor from Eugene Oregon to Vancouver coming soon

The state of Washington is one of five states selected to participate in a 36 month study, funded by $100 million grant from the Department of Energy under the Economic Recovery Program. The state hopes to use some of the funds to eventually begin construction of an “electric car corridor” which could run from Eugene Oregon to Vancouver British Columbia.

Cash for Clunkers was the incredibly successful program that offered consumers a rebate of up to $4,500 to turn in their ‘clunker’ for a more fuel efficient car. The Volkswagen L1 Concept car is a slight 840lb two-seater and is being pegged as the most important car at The Frankfurt Motor Show. The L1’s body is made of lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum which allows it to achieve an incredible 189 miles per gallon.

Merkel says GM board backs Opel sale to Magna

There is breaking and good news on GM, Opel and Magna front regarding Opel's sale. Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel, who was scheduled this morning, announced that GM's board supports Opel sale to Magna. GM just said that it has agreed to sell a majority stake in European automaker Opel to a Russian and Canadian consortium. GM will sell 55 percent to Magna.
