A British charity, the UK Autism Foundation has appealed to the Chancellor of the Exchequer to reach out to families with autism who are below the poverty line in his second budget, on Wednesday 22nd April 2009.

Autism Awareness Campaign: Gordon Brown must tackle Autism Issues

The head of the Autism Awareness Campaign UK, Ivan Corea has urged the Prime Minister-in-Waiting, Gordon Brown (Chancellor of the Exchequer) to tackle the issues concerning autism when he takes over as Prime Minister on 27th June. There are 587,900 people with autism in the United Kingdom. Many still suffer as a result of the postcode lottery to education, health, specialist speech therapy and respite care.
