Suzuki Motor Corp said it plans to raise the annual production at Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co to 500,000 vehicles within the next three years, Chinese newspaper Nandang Daily reported today.

Changan Suzuki has confirmed that it stopped production of the existing Alto model in July to reverse the slide in its small car sales, said Yangtze Daily today. The all-new Suzuki Alto is expected to be made by this joint venture in September 2009.

Honeywell and Chinese automaker Changan Group recently signed an agreement to jointly develop technologies for turbochargers used in small-displacement cars, the Xinhua news agency reported today.
