The UK Autism Foundation recently joined with 10,000 people and over 130 partner organisations calling on Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the Government to End Child Poverty in the UK. According to the End Child Poverty Campaign 5.5 million children are in poverty.

(London, UK) Saturday 4th October sees the UK's biggest ever event to End Child Poverty. According to organisers The Campaign to End Child Poverty, thousands are expected at the march from Millbank to Trafalgar Square. Parents, carers and children with autism and Asperger's Syndrome will also be joining this march. A UK based charity, the UK Autism Foundation has appealed for urgent help for families with autism who are below the poverty line.

A new report published by Save the Children shows that Northern Ireland has higher levels of persistent child poverty in comparison to Great Britain. Here, one in five children is living in persistent poverty – that’s double the level in the rest of the UK.
