The Museum of Arts & Design will present Inspired by China: Contemporary Furnituremakers Explore Chinese Traditions, which brings together 27 masterpieces of historic Chinese furniture—some from as early as the 16th century—with 27 pieces of contemporary studio furniture created specifically for the exhibition. An exhibition featuring 43 modern Chinese paintings and calligraphies assembled by the noted author Lin Yutang (1895-1976) and his family will go on view to the public for the first time at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on September 15 and runs through February 10, 2008. The Twelve Signs of the Zodiac gather for the finale of Act II of Middle Kingdom - Ancient China. The show will be available from April 26 to April 29, 2007 at 8pm, Sunday matinee at 1:30pm, at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, 255 Almaden Boulevard in downtown San Jose, tickets are $25-$78. The show's choreography is by Dennis Nahat and Yong Yao, commissioned score by Phil Young.
